Pioneer Air Museum

About
The mission of the Pioneer Air Museum is to collect, protect, and preserve for educational purposes objects that reflect the history of interior and arctic Alaskan aviation through acquiring, restoring, interpreting, and displaying historically significant objects.

Pioneer Museum

About
The greater portion of the Museum’s collection has been donated by Pioneers of Alaska. These items tell the stories of Alaska's unique local, territorial and state history and illustrate the triumphs and struggles our early pioneers faced as they sought to tame Alaska's wild, unforgiving landscape in pursuit of their dreams for riches and a better life. Most of the early pioneers followed the gold rush stampedes throughout ""The Great Land"" and they came from around the world.

The Pioneer Museum and ""Big Stampede Show"" are physically located in Gold Rush Town inside Pioneer Park: 2300 Airport Way Fairbanks, Alaska 99701

March-April: Opens the 2nd Friday in March, and thereafter it is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5pm. May: daily 1-5pm. May 27-mid-September: open daily 11am-8pm. October-February: closed. For more information and to arrange a tour, please contact the museum. Special events include days in the Park (i.e., Halloween Town, Santa Train, Holiday Bazaar); small group tours (4+ people) available by (1) week prior request; and free, enhanced school tours for public, private, or home schools at any day and time available with minimum (1) week notice.

Prince William Sound Museum

About
32 exhibits in a 1200 square foot space donated by the Shen family at the Anchor Inn. These exhibits tell the story of Whittier's history as a military port and rail terminal as well as reflections on Alaskan military heritage during World War II and the Cold War.

Roundhouse at Alyeska Museum

About
The Roundhouse sits 2,280 feet above sea level and is accessible by aerial tram or ski lift. The distinctive octagonal building first served as a warming hut and later as a popular mountain gathering place. Built in 1960, the Roundhouse was placed on the National Historic Register in 2003, and is now a museum and interpretive center.

Sealaska Heritage Institute

About
Sealaska Heritage Institute is a private nonprofit founded in 1980 to perpetuate and enhance Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian cultures of Southeast Alaska. Its goal is to promote cultural diversity and cross-cultural understanding through public services and events. SHI curates year-round museum exhibits that focus on Alaska Native cultures and art and maintains a substantial archive of historical and ethnographic material and art objects for research and educational purposes (archives open by appointment only). SHI also offers numerous public programs promoting Southeast Alaska Native culture, language, and art, including Celebration, Alaska’s second-largest Native gathering.

Seldovia Museum

About
The Seldovia Museum & Visitor Center is a prime destination for visitors to Seldovia. The Museum tells the story of the Aleut, Yupik, Alutiiq, Athabascan, Russian and European-American people who inhabit the Seldovia area. It also promotes greater public awareness of the rich legacy of the indigenous societies of Seldovia Bay. Both permanent and temporary exhibits give glimpses of the many cultures and influences that have shaped life in this community by the sea.
