Collections Management Fund

The Collections Management Fund, established in 2013, builds on the success of the Art Acquisition Fund. The new fund was created by Rasmuson Foundation and will be managed by Museums Alaska through 2017.  Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit, government, tribal entities or equivalent organizations that hold collections in the public trust, such as a museum or cultural center. Small, rural-based organizations are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to projects that are collaborative or cooperative in nature. Emergency conservation projects will be given priority. Membership in Museums Alaska is encouraged but not required. See the CMF grant guidelines 2017 for full information.

For a list of 2016 grants awarded see 2016 Collection Management Fund Awards.

In 2017, funds will be available to museums and cultural centers in Alaska for collections management supplies and activities. The goal is to build capacity for managing collections through professional expertise, training, and conservation materials and supplies.

We are excited to offer a third round of CMF grants in 2017. The deadline for Round 3 will be Friday, December 8th, 2017.

We will not be soliciting applications in Spring 2018. Please see this letter for more information.

Applications must be submitted online, via the link below.  Also, please use the CMF Budget Form template for creating your budget.
